What is the DPUK Awards 2011 for?
This event is to celebrate our 10 years anniversary of our charity.  It is also an opportunity to encourage Deaf parents, families and professionals working with Deaf parents to be praised from the public for their achievements.

 

Who is the Award Event targeted for?
Audience targeted for Deaf Parents, Deaf Families & Friends and Professionals working for Deaf Parents/families, however, the event is open to the public for those who associate within the Deaf Community.

 

What are the Awards categories?
There will be 7 awards

 

  • Positive Deaf Parent Award
  • Community of Deaf Parents Award 
  • Professional Support of Deaf Parents Award  
  • Friend of Deaf Parents Award
  • Best Practice of Working with Deaf Parents Award
  • Campaigner of Deaf Parents Award
  • Lifetime Achievement Award

When and where is the Awards?
7th October 2011, from 10.30am – 1.30pm

Will there be crèche available?
At this time there are no plans for childcare.  The Awards is planned around the time that most children are at school – young children of pre-school age can accompany deaf parents/families. 

 

However, please bear in mind you need to take full responsibility for your children and please bring children food in case they get hungry throughout the event. Please note that there is no baby chair/ high chair available and please also ensure you take the rubbish waste with you and dispose accordingly.

 

Is there a Dress code?
As it is an Award event at a stunning venue, appropriate smart clothes/ suit are vital. Cultural outfit welcome. No jean and trainers please.

 

Will there be filming/ photos available?
Professional photographer and filming crew will be there to record the important event and cherish your memories. Those clips will be available from our website soon after the event.

 

So no filming allowed at the venue other than the professional filming. Photos from your camera are acceptable for personal use as professional photos will be available from our website too.

 

Will lunch be provided?
Tea and Coffee refreshments and lunch (including vegetarian & halal) will only be provided.

 

How do I pay for tickets?
You can purchase your tickets online via our website, where payment will be made through Paypal.  Alternatively you can pay using Postal Order or Cheques. Please allow up to 5 working days for clearance and E-tickets will then be sent to you by electronic mail. 

 

Please note no tickets will be sold at the Door and the Deadline for payments is as follows:
Paypal – Friday 16th September 2011
Cheques/Postal Orders - 1st September 2011
