Deaf Parenting UK supports FIFA World Cup’s  International Sign broadcast video reports.

Asif Iqbal, Media /Project Manager of Deaf Parenting UK are delighted at the announcement of FIFA.com’s video reports in International Sign:

“We are pleased that FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter and Mr Markku, President of World Federation for Deaf (WFD and Deaf Parenting UK Ambassador) for pushing this through in recognition of 70million of deaf people across in the world and enabling them to involved in World Cup.

We hope that many Deaf parents/ families across the world, will be able to access to those matches via subtitles on TV and International Sign Languages via FIFA.com websites. Integrated access of both subtitled and International Sign will bring everyone including Deaf people, families together to enjoy the World Cup.

This would certainly bring exciting ideas, challenges and opportunities for Olympic London 2012 and how accessible will it be for Deaf parents/ families?

If you are Deaf Parents/ Deaf families, looking forward to watching the World Cup 2010, please let us know your thoughts on accessibility of International Signs and subtitles for our next Deaf Parenting UK’s Winter Newsletter. Email us on media@deafparent.org.uk
