  • To improve awareness of local services and support available for deaf and hard of hearing people in Stockport
  • To involve local deaf and hard of hearing people in improving services and their communications
  • To engage service users on their health and social care needs
  • To support the deaf and hard of hearing community to take control of their own health through tailored communications and education sessions.
Where:  Pinewood Lecture Theatre, Stepping Hill Hospital Time:  2-8pm Deaf Parenting UK will be setting up stall to promote their services, along with 20 other groups: 1.    NHS Stockport CCG 2.    Stepping Hill Hospital 3.    Hypertension Campaign (BP checks) 4.    Audiology drop-in service 5.    Stockport Council Equipment Adaptation & Sensory Loss Team 6.    BSL Healthy Minds 7.    Interpreter Now 8.    Breast Cancer stall 9.    Cancer information stall 10. Walthew House 11. Healthwatch Stockport 12. Mastercall out of hours GP service 13. Library Service 14. Welfare rights Service 15. UK Council on Deafness 16. Action on Hearing Loss 17. Deaf Nest 18. FLAG 19. Deaf Parenting UK Services 20.   Genie Networks And 5 workshops: •             2:00pm Deaf Awareness Training for GPs and Clinicians (Deaf Health Champions) •             3:00pm Alcohol Awareness Session (Lifeline Project Ltd) •             4:00pm Breast Awareness Session (Stepping Hill Bobby Moore Unit) •             5:00pm Deaf Awareness Training for GPs and Clinicians (Deaf Health Champions) •             6:00pm Cancer Awareness Session (Macmillan & Deaf Health Champions) PLEASE COME ALONG AND NETWORK!
