“Being a parent is always challenging and all parents have difficulties at times no matter what their circumstances. Deaf parents will face all the same challenges as hearing parents, but may face extra barriers in accessing supports that they needs and therefore need specialist support/ help to overcome such barriers, whether this is being able to attend a Deaf parenting skills workshop run by deaf parents using BSL, or some peer support from parents who have already been there. Deaf Parenting UK is available to give them the information, advice, support and confidence they need around parenting and promote well-being within families.”
