SABINA IQBAL, CHAIR/FOUNDER OF DEAF PARENTING UK, HONOURED WITH ‘WORKING PARENT OF THE YEAR 2010’ AWARD
Mum and Working Awards 2010 event took place on Wednesday 4th November 2010, rewarding and recognising the companies and individuals that make flexible working possible and show that family-friendly employment not only supports family life but give real benefits to the companies involved. The award organisers explained: “We’re very excited about this as we know first-hand the challenges that parenthood, running a business and working brings. We meet amazing individuals every day that are proving that flexible, family-friendly employment does work and we want to applaud the people and companies that are making this happen.”
Our finalists were invited to the glamorous awards ceremony at the beautiful Hilton St Anne’s Manor near Bracknell to meet and mingle with the press, industry personalities and our other special guests. The winners was announced and presented with their awards and prizes at this inspiring occasion. Sabina was announced as a winner of the ‘Working Parent of the Year 2010 Award’, presented by Sarah Beeny, TV Presenter together with a prize of Sanctuary Spa.
Sabina Iqbal: “I’m delighted to receive this award as recognition of working mum as it has been really challenging in juggling with my full time work and my voluntary charity work with Deaf Parenting UK aswell as being a mum to three young children under 5. I hope with this award to inspire other mums on balancing work with families, it is important to have flexible working to fit around families aswell as supporting organisations/ communities we work with.”
